Here is the link for Raging Rooster as well:

So lets start a sign up and once again tell me what kind of dog you have so we know how we will need to split things up. Maybe if weather is permitting we can also do a cook out! :-)
Costs according to the website will be:
Pheasants: $19.00 per bird
Chukars: $12.00 per bird
With a total of a 10 bird minimum. So let me know what kind of birds you want and how many! :-)
1. Beth and Jeff DeVries- Not sure if we will have a dog ready or not. If so a pointer.-2 Pheasant
2. Jim Allen-Moose-GSP-6 Pheasant

Re: Fall 2009 UAD Hunt
What we did last year was split the pointing dogs into a group and the flushing dogs into a group an hunted that way. My biggest concern is always for the dogs. If a dog has never been shot over before I would be a bit concerned about letting them hunt but that is ultimatly your decision. And with bird hunting the dog isn't going to see the bird necisarily so if a dog likes to chase pigons or little tweedy birds they may not understand how to find game birds as they are going to be "barried" in cover like grass.
But of course new commers to the game of hunting are welcome. What John and Lynn did last year is come along to see how it all worked and then they got the "hunting bug" and want to keep doing it. If you want to try running your dog on some birds we can always do our best to assist you with that.
Here is my next question. Would Saturday or Sunday afternoons be best? My vote would be Sunday but I want to do what works best for most people.

Re: Fall 2009 UAD Hunt
If so I can easily get something set up for the first or Second week of December on a Saturday or Sunday. Everyone is able to bring there dogs as we have would be utilizing a 160 acre field that has Corn, wheat, and switch grass growing throughout it. The day would also include a catered lunch if we wanted to do the European hunt and then we have the rest of the day to hunt as much as we want.
For something like this we would need 8-20 people and it would be anywhere from 5-10 birds a person depending on how many people would be interested.
Anyway it is just still an option if anyone would be interested.
