Does anyone know where I can find a tripod that is tall enough to video tape an event? Thanks for your help.

We got ours thru cannon, and it can go up to 5-6 feet high. Not sure if that is what you have in mind. think I suppose it depends on how far back from the pool you set it too. swimming

Please let me also add that leaving a video camera alone on a tripod is a very dangerous thing to do....especially around crowds. You never know who will bump into it....move it out of their way....stand in front of it. You need an operator for a video camera just like you do a still photo camera. Otherwise, it's a crapshoot what your video will look like.....if you get one at all.

If you aren't planning on leaving the camera unattended....if you are planning on having an operator....please ignore my advice and continue with your regularly scheduled program. Snickering

I wouldn't recommend one from Walmart, but I know I've seen cheap ones there. Of course it depends on the quality you are looking for.

You all really need to check out the site Bill listed - the ultimate gadget - OOPPS tool - shop!!!!.
they have a bunch of tripods, including a Cannon and the prices look reasonable.

We got our's at a college campus garage sale. It adjust from about four feet to... maybe twelve? I've never cranked it up as high as it can go... but I do know I for sure can't reach the top! I'm just under 6ft tall and we can put it way above my head for events. It was purchased for $15.00. A Round of Applause!

I also have a smaller one that adjust to about five feet... but that's not really tall enough for dock events.
