Give it a couple of days, the tail will get better. I don't know about any formal meds from the vet. When Sophie had it last year, I gave her baby asprin for the pain or uncomfortably. But it should heal on its own. good luck. the worst is watching them with it, it is so uncomfortable for them

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO. THERE'S NOTHING WORSE THAN WATCHING THEM AND NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE THEM MORE COMFORTABLE. I WILL TAKE YOUR ADVICE AND WAIT AND SEE,MAY GIVE HER A BABY ASPRIN. SHE SEEMS A LITTLE BETTER THIS AFTERNOON. THANKS AGAIN ITS NICE TO HAVE PEOPLE TO TALK TO NEW TO THE SPORT.

If she's uncomfortable, I would recommend pain relievers from your vet (or call them for an over the counter dose, since they know her weight, etc). If not, just give it time. It should resolve in a few days.

Salmon Oil is the way to go - I highly recommend it and definitely give higher doses before/during a cold jump event.

Glad to hear she is feeling better :-)
