Champ will be having surgery this Tuesday on his eyes and I would really apprecaite if everyone could keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I'm very nervous, even though I know it's a very simple out patient surgery.

For those who do not know: "Entropian of the eye is a condition where the dog’s eyelids turn inwards toward the eyeball rather than outward as they should be. This causes irritation to the eye and if left untreated, can lead to blindness."

I'll keep you all posted on Tuesday.

Good luck Champ. We had a foster dog that had just had surgery for that. She was a SharPei mix and I guess it's common in that breed as well as in larger breeds like Newfies, St Bernards, and Mastiffs. It should be no big deal. It's like getting an eye lift at the plastic surgeon. We were given some antibiotic cream to put on the stitches to keep them from getting infected and to keep them from getting too stiff.

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to say Champ's surgery was a success today Ultimate Air Elation
The vet decided to use a laser which turns out is really cool and doesn't require stitches! So, he's back home and back to his normal self. It's amazing now when you look at him how you can see his lower lids!! We will be monitoring the progress as it takes a few weeks to see how the healing goes.
