Jubilee ran singles in flyball at the peach blossom in Georgia last weekend. Her best time was a 4.281 with the fastest labbie on their board at a 4.066. They only have 44 of the 146 labs with singles times but still...my baby is FAST!

I've been curious if my GSD would do well in flyball - he'll chase and retrieve his tennis ball for hours! Unfortunately, we don't have any places around me to either train or compete Oh so Sad -

Guess I'll just have to be satisfied in watching all of the speed demons like Jubilee! Just kidding!

Oooooooh that is too bad. The sport is getting really big so you never know what might come your way!

Dawn, where are you located? I do flyball and know several people who also do with their GSDs. I could ask and check around and see if if there is anything nearby for you. There are two other dockjumpers who do flyball with GSDs, too.

Thanks! You are too kind:) I think her foster brother has a crush on her. They have been cuddling an awful lot and she doesn't really cuddle other dogs. But the foster has to go sometime boys Snickering .

Thanks...we did! It always is a fun weekend. There were some FAST teams there posting 15 and 16 second runs. Jubilee ran on her first 19 second team so we had a blast. We are gearing up to head to Pensacola the first weekend in May!

Kel - We're in central Wisconsin. I did a google search and found a training location and team on the far side of Madison but haven't contacted them to find out about specifics yet. That's still a good hour and 1/2 drive one way for me, so if your friends know of anything closer, that would be great...

I used to drive an hour to an hour and a half one way for practice once a week but gas was cheaper then and it was only for a few months. Now I drive 30 minutes one way. It depends on the requirements but maybe you could go twice a month instead of every week or something!

Thanks ladies!

Normally an hour and a half wouldn't be too bad - except now for gas prices. Golly Gee!

I had looked up the Ulti-Mutts site and will give them a call on Monday - I'll also check some of the others listed too Kel -

I really would like to find my GSD a job - my husband had been training him in cadaver work for about 9 months last year but he (Chase, not my husband Just kidding! picked up an extreme case of lymes/anaplasmosis during that time and just doesn't have the attention span for HRD work anymore. He's too smart to just sit and be a couch potato! So I will do some more looking at the flyball aspect of things - it looks like a lot of fun - for both the people and the dogs. And dogs like Jubilee are an inspiration Sunny Day! !

I didn't know Chase did cadaver work. Sweet! My first GSD, Ice, was a tracking/trailing dog. Aro is disaster. Jack Tar is in training, as is Baako. I'm not sure what route we'll go with them... but one or the other will likely be doing HRD. Scot may end up doing track/trailing also... but he's still working on the basics. Sweet!
