Ultimate Sports Show - Grand Rapids

Can't believe it's less then 1 week away from registering for our first event of the year!! looking forward to seeing everyone again this year, who else will be registering for the Ultimate Sport Show?

I plan on pre-paying, I am just waiting for a mailing address. I like the idea of pre - paying, it's one less thing to have to think about doing once your there and have everything set up.

My camera died and so I hope someone has a camera to get some pictures. I will have my video camera though.

Thinking of bringing Smokey down to try. He choked there a couple years ago. Don't know if it was the cold water or the people or something else. Just took a long time to get him going again after that. But he is so bored right now I'd hate to keep him home that weekend.

If Smokey is anything like my dogs, he is climbing the walls and ready for a competition.

The water is super cold and the place is noisy. It may have bothered him.

We'll be there.... we never miss this event. This is where it all started for rajah 6 years ago when he wouldn't jump at his 1st event. LOL Hard to believe that now.

From watching Rajah, I never would have thought there was an event where he would not jump. He gets great elevation and is fun to watch.

Yes our first event 6 years ago with rajah was this one. That year he went to this event....jumped in once in practice and then gave jeff the paw! A few months later we went to Petapalooza and Rajah hit a 19' jump and hasn't looked back since! Can't WAIT for this even. Annie will be coming back out here too. Yipppeee!

Since you mentioned Annie, I thought I would post this one that I took at the 2010 WoofStock.

Can't wait for the Ultimate Sports Show event in Grand Rapids! Marley and DJ are both sad that our pond at home has frozen over and can't wait to get back on the dock! Marley's last jump last year was 22'4 inches and I can't wait to get him in the ultimate division. This will be his 3rd event not to shabby.

We are going to the Outdoorama event for a 1 splash and fetch it warm up before the G.R. event. Hopefully he continues where he left off from last year. He learned fetch it at the Potato Festival event last year... I hope he remembers he's supposed to knock the bumper down. At first he kept staring at it like he knew he wanted to get it but wasn't exactly sure how to.

well the calendar says it can open at anytime on that day.

Sorry, Guys, I'm postponing it til next Tuesday, due to the storm. There's no way we can get out to fax paperwork to UKC tomorrow and we are still working on the schedule.

I promise that it will be opening bright and early in the morning, though.

We are still working on the schedule. To be honest, this is the hard one, because we coordinate with other activities that share Lake Ultimate with us. I can't make a schedule, until I get theirs. So, I keep posting opening dates, trying to get it done, but then can't. See how it goes? I'm sorry. I'm doing the best I can.

As for the snow... I am Old! It was three feet thick across our front sidewalk and I do it all by hand, back, knee, arm, wrist (listing everything that hurts) with a shovel the old-fashioned way! (I'm asking Santa for a snowblower next Christmas!) Anyway, after the almost three hours it took me to shovel it all, I passed out on the sofa for the remainder of the day.

Today, I have just a couple of hours to work before taking Lynnie to the doctor, which I will be explaining to you all in the Member's Only section, maybe tomorrow or this weekend.

Well, I'm gonna try to get these registrations done before I need to jump in the shower. Have a nice day, my friends!

Well, I didn't get all of the registrations processed. I'll be working on them tomorrow morning for sure, when I open the Celebration of Pets.

It seems like last year we had the same hassle with the GR Ultimate sport show. I think the schedule was changed even after we had signed up. Oh well, it always works out in the end.

It's is too bad that it so hard to get the correct information from the Ultimate Sport Show people in order to get the UAD schedule set. Well, at least we know when it is, and thats the main thing.

Thanks Mare, you always do a fine job of getting everything set for us even with all the challenges beyond your control.

why cant they just set the schedule around the dogs. more people watch the dogs than pretty much anything else. i love deer hunting, but listening to every single story just gets old. their pretty much all the same story. "so there i was at the crack of dawn....." oh well.
