What a weekend Empty What a weekend

Post by flyinlab Sun Apr 26, 2009 1:18 pm

Well, spring has finally showed up in New York. Well more like summer, 88 degrees and sunny here in the Hudson Valley. It has been a great weekend all sun. The dogs got a lot of play time in yesterday in the back yard as Kristin and myself did some much needed yard work. I only wish we had a pool for Sophie to play in. Both Sophie and Harley are knocked out this a.m.. They seem to be confused. One week 40 degrees and rainy then high 80's and sun. They aren't really diggin the hot weather. I actually put the a/c in to give them some relief. Well I just hope this weather is hear to stay. I am so sick of the cold wet weather.

Sounds like your kids had a great time!

It was really warm in Michigan yesterday too, then the storms rolled in. Luckily we got out for a swim before that. It's beautiful again today! I'm ready for summer too. We are headed out for some outdoor fun. The girls were itching to go out this morning and don't quite understand the words "I have to unpack first". LOL! I

We have had rain all weekend here in IL Oh so Sad There have been some times when it hasn't been pouring and I've been able t get the boys out to swim (thankfully!!!) - I think they are more ready for the nice weather than I am since they are both shivering after swimming but of course still want to jump in the pond!!!

Hey Steph, we are getting that weather too. We go out to play, then it rains, then we come in, then it gets nice, so we go out, then it rains, lol..... and in between all of that I've been washing windows and screens. Then trying to let the screens dry between the rain and put them in......

sounds like the weather we had last week. I am so greatful for the sun. Looking foward to getting Sophie is some sort of water. It is tough around here. Tons of water and no where to swim. I live appox. 1.5 miles from the Hudson River and approx 20 miles from 7 lakes in Harriman state park but no where easy to swim. Every time we go to the river, people fishing and same in the state park. I really need to get some sort of pool. It is tough as I am only renting. I don't know if the landlord will go for it.

I think I must have been physic when I bought my house - it had a pond in the backyard which I liked cause then I knew I wouldn't end up with anyone building right behind me. I didn't have the boys then but I love it now since they both love to swim so much! It is heaven during the summer when it is too hot for them to play too long outside.

I have to agree with Steph. Having a pond is heaven. The maintenance in the summer is costly, but a must. Also there's the mosquito issue. All in all, well worth it and the girls are always tired after a couple of hours of playing. I feel for those of you that have trouble finding water. Dang Nab It!

Finding water is not the problem, Got plenty of it. Just can't always let them swim do to other peoples issues. Only dog people would understand that and we all are dog people here.
