That is correct, in the UKC the owner ALWAYS shows the bite.

Would you go farther back yet with the rear legs? The angle of the picture is deceiving. Her legs are parallel in the front and parallel in the back. In the picture you really can't tell but her legs are paws are 3-5 inches behind the base of her tail.

Re: Conformation show in MI
I have found that if you watch others you learn......while your sitting waiting for your breed watch the other rings and see how other handlers are doing things - now not all handlers do things the same but if you watch the Gun Dog ring you will get some good ideas - plus you can ask the other UAD people that are sitting with you questions.
If Sky looks like she has a good self stack - don't mess with it. Leave good enough alone. The judges will notice all the fussing and you will bring negative attention to yourself.
I would suggest that you stand in front of Sky when you get her stacked or she stacks herself. Hold your bait out in front of her with a loose lead. The tail wagging will be a two fold plus - the judge will see she is happy and enjoying what she is doing AND the (lack of a great) otter tail might be hidden a wee bit.
Have fun and relax - your feelings / emotions go right down the lead to Sky - she will sense your anxiety and react to it. Chewing gum helps
Wear clothes that compliment (sp?) the color of Sky. I would say a darker color pants (not Kaki) and a shirt that has a small design (all over) on it. Most men wear a jacket of some sort. Sweaters are an option too. Just something that isn't TOO busy.
I wish I could be there to watch / cheer on all of you - but alas....someone HAS to work the Sandestin event.
Can't wait to hear how it goes.

Yeah, I'm sure it sucks that you'll be in sunny florida instead of cold wintery Michigan.
