I am still editing the pics from Saturday. I haven't even made it to Sunday yet. The lighting was BAD but we all got some good shots. Brian should have some good ones too. Remember Shari, if you win the photo contest it better be with a pic of my dog! She knows why... I'll post mine as soon as I'm done fussing with them.

Yeah, even with the 2.8 lens. The 1.8 lens was better but still had shutter speeds that were pretty slow. Novi has better lights so I may try the 2.8 again there.

Yeah Thom, I am thinking of trying to pick up a Whte Lightning type flash lamp on ebay to try out. I think I could put it next to or behind the dock so it doesn't distract the dogs but could still hit the ceiling for more light.

yep - my bad. She is adding 2" to her height each event, so maybe in a year she will be keeping up with Meadow :-)
not enough coffee this Am.
Didn't get a good night's sleep. All the dogs were so happy to see me - they kept moving around all night so everyone could take a turn beathing into my face :-(

hmm my post disappeared....As long as you mount it above the jumping area and point it toward the ceiling you shouldnt have a problem. I used to use them for college basketball and Hockey. You will also need a flash meter. If I still had the one I used to use I would give it to you. I used to bring a tall trupod to mount it on for basketball in hockey I would mount several up in the catwalks

Mounting above the jumping area would be the tough part. That was why I was thinking to put it near the back of the dock and aim it so it bounces to the pool. If it goes off behind the dogs it shouldn't spook them, don't want to scare any puppies. Maybe I will get a small, inexpensive one to play with. See if it's worth investing any more money into. They come up used a lot when studio goes out of business and unfortunately that is happening a lot recently.

I could get you a good deal on truss and rigging motors - not more than $5,000-6,000 :-)
