2011 Custom Hero discs
2011 Custom Hero discs
I've been mulling over a few designs which will include a picture of a dog flying over a pool with a disc in it's mouth and mosty likely one of the following slogans
I've got STDs---Shelby Township Dogs
Amphimbious Air Assault Disc Dogs---everyone loves a set of triple A double Ds
MUDDDD---Michigan's Ultimate dock diving disc dogs
I've got ADD----Amphibious disc dogs
If you interested or have suggestions shoot me a PM

Re: 2011 Custom Hero discs
Just how durable are the Hero discs you are ordering? In other words, how long do you think they will last with my hard-mouthed GSDs?
If they will last through at least a day's worth of catches, we might be interested in a few.
Re: 2011 Custom Hero discs
I think they are similar to the fastbacks? They are not as tough as a jaws, although I think Hero makes a model similar to jaws....They're better than the Hyperflite competition standard. In my opinion, they throw a LOT better than the Hyperflite comp standard. Heroes and fastbacks are my personal preference for throwing. My dogs are pretty hard mouth catching-wise (Ozzy being the worst chomper, which is odd considering he's got a soft mouth with birds!) and they last for a good while with them. I'm ok with punctures on the disc, but once the edge starts getting ragged that's when they go into the trash.
I'd definitely recommend them!

Re: 2011 Custom Hero discs
The Extras are the most durable standard weight discs available. Hard biters can still destroy them but the bite damage dosent leave the huge ,sharp points that it would on a Hero air, fastback or K-10.They typically warp from overuse before they become dangerous.
Roger,
Probably about 4.00 for the xtras after shipping maybee slightly more on the first run due to set up.
It will probably be at least a month until they are done.Anyone who wants to order something please PM me.

Re: 2011 Custom Hero discs
All I use for disc competition are the Hyperflite Jawz. I refuse to use anything else for disc since my guys are so rough on their discs. I probably lose a little control/distance at times by using them, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for durability.
HOWEVER, I would be interested in something else for dock jumping (even if it isn't as durable), since the Jawz definitely do not float. So, again, Chip, send me a message when you make your order as I would like some floatable, fairly durable discs to use.

How are the discs coming, do you have them yet? I would like 4 as mentioned above.

Re: 2011 Custom Hero discs
Do the Hero Xtras float?
I'm looking for a disc that floats and is highly visible (for dogs) in the water.
I bought a yellow SofFlite for Indy, we lost it the first time at the lake. It does float, but when it flipped upside down and took on water, Indy couldn't see the disc even when it was inches from his nose, even when he bumped into it and knew it was there.
Someone needs to make a floating disc that is black and white striped
