This will be my (and my dog's) first dock diving event. I have seen several but never entered. We normally are chasing frisbees Sweet! Any tips for a brand new jumper? If he jumps off the dock I will be happy so I don't really have any expectations. If I am there for registration is there anything else i need to do that day? How long does each round usually last? Thanks!

Hey Lindsay, this is Annie- we met at that disc seminar. Anyway, not sure if anyone has PM'd you answers to your questions or not, but I'd say expect each splash to last at least an hour or so. As for tips, to make sure Logan knows the pool is filled with water, think about taking him up the exit ramp before letting him on the dock so that he can enter the water slowly and begin to figure things out. Bring a chair!

Hey Lindsay and welcome!!!

There will be plenty of us there who have been in the sport for awhile and will gladly help you get started!! Arrive an hour before the splash time so you get a chance to practice. Also, you may want to bring towels, a crate, and remember Logan's toy! May 8 Addison Oaks Dog Park Icon_biggrin See you next weekend!!

Hopefully, you will stay ON the dock (it doesn't always work out that way though...) If you forget anything, I'm sure there are people who can help you out. The more events you attend, the more "stuff" you bring, so we all have spares. It's going to be cold and windy so dress warm and waterproof. Have fun and remember, it's just a game.

Hi Disc Doggers,


We went and set up the field this afternoon no rain and the field
is in great shape.
The Pet Parade will go on rain or shine tomorrow.


I have some IMPORTANT information to forward to
everyone from Addison Oaks Park… since the park is not officially
open they haven’t been running the water from any of the taps (inside or
outside).

1. This means no one is to drink any water from the hose taps,
bathroom sinks, any drinking fountains etc…

2. There will
be water for drinking at the concessions area. Oak Management will be
selling food and drinks (but Dan the manager said that he will have
drinking water available. The food will be hot dogs, sausages, chips,
gator aid, pop etc…

3. The Restrooms in the concession building are open and
working. There are also Port-A-Potties around the area.

C O L D !!!!! 45* , windy (gusts up to 40mph) on and off rain - I thought this was May not Oct!!!!
Basically anyone who was still there after the 3rd Splash was in FINALS!!!

Yup, the weather was quite intense. Only dog people would be out in that so that their dog could splash around in the water Just kidding! We braved the cold, though, and Quincy actually jumped pretty well, even for him, staying in the 19's and 18's. Took first in senior. I was pleased, although I can safely say a hot shower and warm bed never felt so good Sweet!
