Young black lab need forever home ASAP

I am cross posting this from another board.. Doremon is heading to a reescue in MI near Novi this weekend and they are just trying to set up transport.. It would be great if he could just go to a forever home though.



This is Doremon. Doremon came to us when his owners moved to the
Phillipines. We thought we had a home for him but things did not work
out. Doremon tends to become possesive of the humans in his life and
guards them. Not such a bad thing but his hair goes up and a low growl
comes out when he is on a walk and another person aproaches his human.

I
do NOT want to put this dog down. I believe his behavior can be changed
and he is not a bad dog. He did fine on his Safer testing. That being
said I cannot adopt him out to just anyone so his fate is hanging in
the balance. We are quite full right now and because of what he did in
foster care before he would be the first to go down if I ran out of
kennel space. I do not have a foster home capable of retraining him. I
have contacted a couple of rescues and gotten nothing back. So I am
putting him here to see if anyone has any ideas or interest. Please
help me save this beautiful boy before it is too late. He is neutered
and UTD with shots. I will pay his adoption fee out of my own pocket
and help with transport.

I don't want to see him put down and I know Kathy (the shelter
manager) will give him every chance, but if someone doesn't step up for
him she may run out of options. If you know any dog savvy people who

Doremon will be at a rescue in MI on Sunday. Thanks to many they arranged transport for this boy from NY-MI.. Thank goodness he will be safe
