I was wondering at the novice event what is the average distance that the dogs catch it at.Im curious since I dont know anything about Frisbee other than throwing it around in the back yard.

I am not super familiar with all of the different groups that sanction frisbee events and I know there are multiple different events that you can enter. To keep it simple, toss and fetch or also called distance and accuracy for some groups, is what we entered. Basically you get one minute to get off as many throws with one frisbee. You must throw at least 10 yards and a max of 50 yards. The field is marked out before you and your dog must stay in bounds. Half points are given for dogs that catch with all four feet off the ground. The field is the same for advanced. If you have placed in the novice division in a previous skyhoundz event they required you to only participate in advanced. Everyone is different. I am not a great thrower so my throws are generally somewhere between 10 and 25 yards but some of the novice throwers are able to throw farther.

Yes you get half a point more. It doesn't seem like much but if I can get my frisbee to hang Jubilee will ALWAYS catch with air so those half points add up fast!

Yea...You can change sides but not after you have started that round. Most people throw with the wind to try to get more distance but both mine and a lot of others were just hitting the ground fast. Jubilee couldn't get under them. So while throwing INTO the wind didn't help my distance, it gave me the lift so Jubilee could make the points.
