Dock Looking For a Good Home Empty Dock Looking For a Good Home

Post by MaraLee Tue Aug 12, 2008 1:25 pm

My parents bought a new aluminum dock and would like to sell their wooden dock.

It is 60' long and 3' wide... in 6-10' sections. Made of that wood with formaldehyde (sp?) in it... pressure treated? It's like that greeny looking wood. The last two sections are only a couple of years old. I don't know how old the other 4 sections are, but they aren't in that bad of shape. He said that you can also have some of the cement blocks. (He needs a few for something... I don't know what?)

It's all neatly staked on the shore at their cabin on Chippewa Lake, in Chippewa, Michigan. It's South-East of Big Rapids. Maybe 15 minutes out of town.

My Dad said that he would like $200 for it. My folk's phone numbers is (517)651-6471. You will probably have to leave a message. They get horrible reception up there. They will give you directions to pick it up and work out details.

Bill, Lynnie and I were up there yesterday to take out the old wooden dock and put in the new one. When we were all done, my Mom said, "Now, what do we do with the old dock?"

I told her "No problem... one of my "DOCK" diving friends will want a dock!

Thanks,
MaraLee

Gosh, I hope this works out. This would help us so much. My Dad is handicapped and my Mom can't lift that kind of stuff, so we have to make a trip up there to help them. Also, if they can't sell it, it would just end up in some landfill somewhere, just one more chunk of waste adding to Global Warming.

Anyway, thanks!

Try the house... 517-651-6471 again.

I'm on the phone with her right now. They aren't very good at using the new-fangled fancy voice mail machines. Ultimate Air Elation

Oh, don't try right now. We are still on the phone and they don't have call waiting. Prehistoric, huh? They have two tins cans on a rope for their phone.

Beth and Jeff, if you double it up you will have a 30 ft dock that is 6 ft wide. That would make an excellent practice dock!

Was already thinking about how we could make it wider... at least down where we would stand. Rajah only uses about 30-32' of the dock anyway!

He also asked if you could call him.
