Which is your favorite picture from this event?
POLL - Cincinnati Everything Pet Expo

This was VERY tough to nail down to just 5. Since the poll system allows us to go to 10...we may go that route when there are so many great ones. We'll stick with 5 this time though. Like I said at the beginning this contest is a work in progress so we will make changes as we need to do so.
With that all being said, here are the 5 for this event...

great pics.
Yea it is tough to choose, but it is good to get different dogs, and not have the same dogs in every contest.
maybe a new rule to limit a dog to only being in, say 3 or 4 contests in one year??
And only winning once? so once you win you are done for the year?
That would make sure it gets spread around??
There a lots of dogs jumping that should have chance and not just the same few

They are gorgeous and one can't not look at them, so it is unfair to all of us with ugly dogs if you get all the pics taken of your dogs
and ours are chopped liver and never get pics

Remember too we are at the mercy of the photogropher. If the photogropher doesn't feel like a picture was good enough to post then it can't possibly be even considered for the contest.
I know that sounds obviouse but if all the photos that are being submitted are of the same dogs Matt can't help that. We are at the mercy of the people behind the camera getting shots they feel are worthy to submit.

All of the photogs have been pretty good about posting all their pics for us to choose from, and between them all I think every dog has a pic taken. The photographers don't necessarly submit the photos, it is mostly up to the owners to pick and submit the pic of their dog they like from the event.

I can say this; some dogs are easier to photograph than others. At the indoor events I had trouble with the dark colored dogs. If they had contrasting vests or spots then I could focus better. In the outdoor events that won't be an issue. I can also say that I had at least 2 pics of almost every dog. Some just didn't come out very well. In all at Cincy I took over 500 pics. I had to toos about 150 or so from that.
All of the pics I took of my own dog during his practice jumps ( I take video for his competition jumps) didn't come out at all. I was kinda bummed. I get great pics of other peoples dogs, but I can't get a good one of my own. Oh well, I like shooting pics of other dogs anyway. I have 10,000 pics of Rocky at home at least.

Initially in my head this "In Focus" section was simply going to be a place where all of the event photos were posted so they didn't get lost in the main topic section. As we all know there were always multiple topics for the same event with everyones pictures. The contest grew out of that thought to make it more interesting and fun.

I am not trying to pick a fight here I PROMISE, I am not sure how accurate this is. It may be in some cases but I know for a fact that any pictures that have been posted of our kids thus far for the photo cotest have not been done so by ourselves but by the person who took the pictures. I like to leave the decision up to the person taking the photo to decide what pics they feel are good. Just my personal prefrence.
In the long run I LOVE LOVE LOVE this contest and it is such a great place to be able to see all the pictures.
Keep up the good work Matt and all the PHOTOGRAPHERS!

I guess when I look at a photo I look at the composition of it and what is going on in it. Not just if the dog is cute. But then again I used to be a photographer

Because we are on the dock All of the pics of our dogs have been taken by other people. We usually go through the pics that have been taken and choose the ones we like to submit.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the photographers submitting pics they took and like, as well as owners. As Matt said this is a thread for all of the pics to be posted, either in the thread of by link to a photo site like photobucket.
