Just mention to the hotel you are "participating in the event" and see what happens. We were offered vendor rates before when I mentioned we were participating. Good luck!

Correct. The place we stayed in Morgantown, WV offered the vendor rate when we stayed there and that was better than any other rate I could come up with.
