Just out of curiosity... how long is the pool?

Probably 50'. The 30' banner did not come close to the end of the pool.

The pool is 40+ feet long and about 12-14 wide. The pool and the dock are both solid concrete so there is no spring off the dock unlike normal docks. And the dock length is actually 43 or 44 feet. But you are only allowed to use 40 feet like normal. The yellow patch on the dock is 24 inches or two feet. The most frustrating part for us this weekend is she would leave 8-10 inches before the yellow and go 21'10"!!!! So she was thirty two inches from the end of the dock add it together and she was jumping 24 -25 feet! But, thats another story, she just did not want to adjust to that dock until Sunday afternoon when we were getting ready to leave.

As for who the GSD is you will have to ask Stephanie. I have to say it again, this is a beautiful facility and it was a privilege to be able to be a the inaugural jump at Purina.

Thanks again to the people at Purina for listening to the comments of ALL of the jumpers on the facility. It will be interesting to see how many big jumping dogs come out of the Saint Louis are now that they have a permanent place to practice.

If you ever have the chance everyone needs to make a trip to Purina farms it is BEAUTIFUL!

The lady with the GSD was a local lady I think....but there was also a german shepard show of some sort going on at Purina so I'm not sure. It's name was Samba.

Just wanted to say it was so nice to meet many of you this past weekend, hope you enjoyed our pool here at Purina Farms! It was my first competition (actually my dogs just learned to jump off the dock a few days prior), I really appreciated all the help and tips we got from you pros!

The official specs of the pool are 50' long by 15' wide, the red strip begins exactly 40' from the edge of the dock, the yellow piece is 2'long. The yellow strip was added more for visual effect/television viewing (kind of like a contact zone in agility). I am new to the sport, but I really did notice quite a few dogs leaving early, right at that yellow line..............

I understand that the yellow strip was placed there for tv purposes and I am not complaining or anything I just found it funny that dogs either made a point to run around the yellow patch or just jump before it.

The funny thing is that the yellow patch did not bother new or inexperienced dogs, just the experienced ones.

Thanks for posting the official specs on the dock.

And thank you to Purina for building such a beautiful facility for us to come and jump at. The facility is truly beautiful and we look forward to coming back this summer sometime.

It was great to meet you this weekend!! I'm SO envious of you though!!! For having just learned the sport a couple of days ago your kids did awesome!!! I loved watching them jump

The yellow patch did not bother all of the "experienced" dogs. From what I saw, it was just a few dogs that had some trouble. But I was not watching everyone practice either.

Wrong place to post this but since it seems to be one of the only threads...

I have to say what a beautiful facility Purina has built for the Dock Jumping/Dock Diving community. The facility is second to none, with beautiful a absolutely beautiful background for pictures. Covered seating for spectators, Astro Turf Frisbee area adjacent to the dock, I could go on and on, but I think you get the drift.

If you have a chance to go and jump at this facility, take the trip, it is as I said, BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Congratulations to Wrigley on the win, and the IDC bid he was definitely the experienced dog for this event and set the bar very high for every one else.

Congratulations also go to all the other winners of the multiple events and classes.

Since Brian has posted so many pictures already I will refrain from posting more for now, but I am trying to find a way to allow all of you that want pictures to be download them. I have a ton of really good shots so I want to get them all posted somewhere for all of you to take a look at.
