Best jumping dogs I've seen Empty Best jumping dogs I've seen

Here's a topic that will create some discussions. Many of the people jumping at UAD have never seen or heard of these dogs but here goes.

Little Morgan a 54 pound Black Lab that was nearly undefeated for 3 years and held the record of 26'6" for the longest time. This dog consistantly left 3-5' early and still was a huge jumper. He was nominated for ESPN's Male Athlete of The Year.

Draco a chocolate lab that was dominate for about 2 years.

Sly a Chessie out of Oklahoma that was probably the first dog that was great at distance jumping and vertical.

Sarge a GSP out of Wisconsin.

Sir Jackson a white(yellow) lab out of Minnesota still jumping 22+ at almost 8.

Sparky a black lab 3 straight Outdoor Games 1st dog to Qualify for ESPN Outdoor Games, Super Retriever Series and Purina IDC in same year!

Clementine a Cattle Dog less than 16" that could go 24'. Smallest dog to qualify for ESPN's Outdoor Games.

I've seen vids of several of these dogs, and seen a few more in person. They are indeed some awesome jumpers. Sweet!

No matter what org they may jump with most, or jump with them all, a good dog is a good dog!

I remember all except Sly - in fact, Ranger has jumped against (with?) all of them except Sly and Little Morgan! Granted, Ranger was never in the same league as these dogs, but he (and his humans Sweet! ) was fortunate to have met these great dogs and their handlers!

I agree with Dawn...

Jake has been at the same events as some of those dogs (Little Morgan, Sparky, Clementine, and Sarge-I think) and he was not in the same league but it was a pleasure meeting the dogs and handlers. We've been to a couple events with Amanda so I am pretty sure we met Sarge.

Yeah, all males except little Clem. Clem is awesome and always amazing to watch. She's a phenominal disc dog, too! Sweet! I think another big jumping female you could add to the list would be Anna Balsamo's Belgian Tervuren, Pico. Not only can she really fly, but she's yet another multi-sport champ (agility, lure course, etc) at that. Sweet!

I would have to agree.I was able to see Pico at Nj in Feb. That dog flys through the air with out even trying. And Anna was very nice and just there haveing fun with her dog....And thats what its all about

I'm talking about dogs that have been around for more than a few years and have won some major events. Beau is the Black Lab from Louisiana that I was trying to remember. Lots of the dogs jumping now are contenders for future mention with these dogs if they continue to jump big.

hope its not to soon to mention this but i remember on little dog that pound for pound had to be onee of thi biggest jumping dogs out there and was one of my favorites to see on the dock.

No Wonder never really competed. He was Randy's best friend went every where with him. Forrest Gumpy inch for inch was a great jumping dog. His story will never be forgotten.

Whatever happened to Dean and Wylie. If I am not wrong Wylie was a yellow lab? He and Dean were really popular when we started jumping a few years back
