Nylabone - not just for dogs

Check out these pictures that my friend at Nylabone sent me the other day...
She donated to a bear rescue recently.
She told me that they donate to zoos as well and if she can find any pictures she will send them my way. The thought never even entered my head about other animals using these toys and bones.

That's cool I just got the Kong newsletter yesterday, they're using Kongs for bear rescue too, stuffing them with PB and jam and other things to keep the bears busy, I think that rescue was in Australia and SE Asia.

I know Nylabones last almost forever with dogs.

Jake has that same bone that the bear has and he has had it since I brought him home in September 2005.

Rocky is the same way with chew toys. It's like a seek and destroy mission with him. He will seriously damage a nylabone Galaleo bone in no time. He has the same OCD complex with squeaker toys. He makes them squeak until they can squeak no more. He can make a grunting toy make sounds that are like a cry for help. It must be something about the yellow dogs Jillian.

Yeah, Indy's "durable souper bone" was worn down to a nub in less than two months. Maybe the ones with knots last longer? Anyone ever tried the "Galileo" from Nylabone? I was wondering if they're any more durable.

Add GSDs to that list... Our dogs have made the grunting toys make those same screams, too... right before they shred them to pieces. We've given up totally on squeeker toys (except the Cuz toys... those hold up pretty well). They just die way too fast. The stuffed toys at least last a little longer... as they tend to tear pieces off over a course of a few days. Apparently I have evil dogs who like to prolong the destruction of their toys. Lol.

Add ginger to the destruction list. My wife just got her a tennis ball filled toy thinking it would last nope some how she took the out side layer completly off adn her porr jolly squirrel lost his fast till his squeeker came out that took all of 20 mins .Now my wife sees why i dont invest in chew toys for her.My boss also said i should try the bone that the bear is nawing on

Rocky loves nylabones and they are very tough even for heavy chewers, but he will win eventually. If Ginger is a heavy chewer I would suggest getting a Nylabone for her and see how she does with it. They are pretty expensive, but get a bone big enough that she won't be able to actually break it. We use the Galaleo bones because they are supposed to be for aggressive chewers and my boys fit that description.

Ours last about 6 months but we have 2 in the house and they only use one at a time (your toy is better than mine mentality). They don't really get destroyed as much as they start to splinter enough that the dogs gums get beat up pretty bad. If we had just one for 2 dogs it would still last 4 months I bet. They are tougher than the normal Nylabone.

The Galileo is one of our favorites. The Puzzle Bone (being discontinued) is the favorite but I don't think it would withstand these yellow dogs. You have to make sure you get the right size too. They sent me some Puzzle Bones that were the smaller size and they started to break chunks off so I had to take them away.
Looking at my living room floor as I type....I see...4 Galileo bones (2 different sizes), 2 Puzzle Bones, 1 of those Knot Bones (like the bear has), 2 Wishbones and a couple others. There are two of the rubber ones but they don't like them very much.
I actually stepped on one on the kitchen floor and it was like a cartoon character stepping on a banana peel.
No one saw it but the boys, thank goodness.

Scott curses our Nylabones almost everyday 
.... he often manages to step on them no matter where they are or how hidden they seem to be 
... but boy, do all the dogs (you should see the teeny 3 pound Hooeys carry these huge bones around!!!! ) LOVE them!!!!

Tennis balls are a 15 min exercise for Rogan. Nylabones (we have 15 laying around) are in various states of destruction.
Actually the only thing they haven't destroyed are Kongs. We give each dog (who is kenneled for the night) a Kong with PB and dog treats in it, and NOT one is any less for the wear!!! several are laying around the house and backyard and are still intact!!!
