Timber

Hello! We are fostering Timber, a one year old male German Shorthair Pointer. He's a HUGE sweetheart! He fit right in with my boys without any hassle at all and they all slept in the bedroom with us last night with no problems. He's got a couple of "manner" problems, they are small and he is extremely willing to please so a reprimand is all it takes and he's about got everything mastered. We took him to the park to meet our two yesterday (neutral area) and it was about 9 degrees out so we didn't stay long and we definitely didn't get our cameras out, but Eric took some photos last night.

Beth - of course you guys can use a photo. We'll try to get more of course! He's much bigger than his original photo we saw looks. He's a little taller than Midas but built similarily. Not as big as Magnum though Just kidding!

Matt - yeah, Mason always thinks he's starving lol. He got quite porky, so I cut back his food and he continued to gain - figured out that as soon as we walked away he was horking out on Midas's food - and Midas was watching haha. Now we taught him to come straight to us when he's done eating and he looks A LOT healthier! Sweet!

Can't wait to see everyone again! I miss you guys!

I hope you didn't think that I meant he was looking porky. Just clownin' around

I was referring to him looking to be just about as tall as Midas now.

How do you get him to come straight to you guys when he is done eating? I would guess you watched him initially and had him come to you but now you don't have to watch him. I need to probably do that with Gunther although I switched Jake's food and he doesn't get as much (and absolutely loves the food - he is picky) so he typically finishes before Gunther now.

No no lol, I just meant he probably weighs the same as he did when you saw him last, he's just bigger b/c he was a little porker before Sweet!

His head is still disproportionately small for his body but he's got such a simple little face you can't help but smile Sweet!

Mason horks down his food before Midas is through investigating it (checking for poison? lol) and we just taught him that if he comes straight upstairs he gets a treat and special loving (away from where Midas could be inticed away). Now he RACES upstairs, comes to us for a quick rub and then sits at the top of the stairs to watch Midas from there - we taught him that was allowed while going down the stairs after being up is not. As soon as Midas is done he is allowed to go downstairs and lick the empty bowls LOL.
