There are 2 Laquinta's in town and I know a lot of people stayed at a Holiday Inn last year. There is a Howard Johnson's near the event that was dog friendly, but the area where the event is being held is NOT real safe so do beware of staying too close. However, my brother stayed at the HJ one time and said it was ok. It is set off the road, but It would be the only place real close to the event that I would stay. If anyone needs me to check out any places let me know. .

I've made a reservation at one of the LQ's - whichever one was closest to the site. We've stayed at the other one in the past that was in an okay area, but I'm not sure about this one.

I was able to find an comfort inn 30 miles away in alabama that was pet friendly.

Motel 6 on Victory is not a good idea. Super 8 by peachtree may be ok, but the mall is shutting down soon so not sure what will happen with that. The north end of columbus is better than the south. Alabama is also an option, but I would think there are enough pet friendly motels in columbus not to have to do the 30 mile drive.

Went out tonight and the super 8, La Quinta, and Holiday Inn all on Mancester expressway are all right there together and look fine. The LaQuinta and HI look a little nicer than the Super 8, but all are in a safe area.

I believe the one we stayed at a couple of years ago was the LQ near Manchester Expwy. It was fine and felt pretty safe. I think it's an old Baymont that they bought and renovated. I've made a reservation there. You can get a decent rate if you look for AAA or Gov't (if you qualify) discounts online.

Any updates on these?? I want to make reservations as soon as possible. We are definitely NOT camping this time around.
